Burlingame, CA, April 01, 2014 — JAPAN. CHOYA USA announced today the national launch of two new flavors, Honey and Shiso Fruit, for the American market, according to Choya Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Katsu Suzuki. Choya Honey and Shiso join Choya Umeshu and Classic and all three flavors are now in a new, more elegant package of 750. ml. size.
Noting the new flavors and sleek packaging, Mr. Suzuki said: “Choya’s line, including Original, Classic, Shiso, and Honey, all contain actual Japanese-raised Ume fruit, and are all in our new slimmer, modern-looking cylinder-shaped bottle, with a convenient, built-in pourer in the cap. Choya Ltd uses 100% Japanese made fruit.”
- Choya Umeshu has clean, delicious Ume fruit flavor, similar to a ripe plum;
- Classic is an authentic Umeshu, which provides sweet and tart taste with stony aroma;
- Shiso is flavored with Shiso herb, which gives unique aroma; and
- Honey is made with without sugar, which has a pleasant honey taste.
Choya can be enjoyed chilled, as a long drink with mixers such as soda, or served as a delicious cocktail base. They are all made with 100% natural ingredients; at 15%.
Choya Classic
Choya Classic Umeshu is a plum liquor recognized as an authentic umeshu made with cane spirits, sugar and 100% Japanese plums.
Aged over one year, Choya Classic has an exquisite amber gold hue and a fragrant, fruity aroma. The sweet and tart flavor is balanced with hints of almond and orange zest.

Choya Shiso
Choya Shiso Umeshu is made by blending the Choya Classic Umeshu with red leaf shiso, adding to the red color and giving it a unique aroma.

Choya Honey
Choya Honey Umeshu is an umeshu made with honey and royal jelly. What makes this unique is that there is no added sugar. The sweetness comes 100% from the honey. Royal jelly is believed to have properties that strengthen the immune system and ease stress levels.
Choya Honey Umeshu has a mild sweetness with notes of almonds and marzipan.
